The sun beam stealthily inching along the carpet
the skylight shaped patch counting seconds
of careful crawling up my legs,
then blindingly wading through
the definition of a binary search sequence imprinted white on my lap
then sweeping past my mathematics induced consciousness
to alight on the next unsuspecting earthly inhabitant
Me, sitting willingly in a library
strapped on to the crisping surface
of a giant spit of a planet
patiently cooking in the heat of a distant fire.
